CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – A federal judge in Iowa has ruled that negligence and warranty claims brought by a Michigan couple against the makers of popcorn-flavoring ingredients are barred by that state's statute of limitations for product liability suits.
Judge Mark W. Bennett of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Iowa also held, after deciding that Michigan law applies, that strict liability claims could not be brought against flavoring defendants Bush Boake and International Flavorings.
