NEW ORLEANS – A federal judge in Louisiana has remanded a lawsuit in which a hospital nurse alleges injuries from an accidental exposure to contaminated blood, saying that defendant Becton, Dickinson and Co. failed to show that that the amount in controversy met the court’s $75,000 threshold.
Judge Helen G. Berrigan on Nov. 25 ordered the case transferred from the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana to the 24th Judicial District Court for Jefferson Parish, La., where it was originally filed by plaintiff Stacie Blanchard.
