SEATTLE — A former operations manager for Microsoft has sued that company and Prudential Insurance Co. for allegedly denying him disability benefits and discriminating against him for an illness related to his overseas business travel.
David Newman filed the lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington Nov. 22.
Newman alleges that he contracted tuberculosis during a business trip to India, and that the illness has led to gastrointestinal distress, causing him to lose significant time from work in 2011 and 2012.
