ERIE, Pa. — A federal judge has denied summary judgment to Georgia-Pacific Chemicals and other defendants in a wrongful death case, saying questions remain as to when the decedent should have linked his illness to exposure to formalin or other industrial chemical products.

Judge Joy Flowers Conti denied Western’s motion Oct. 23 on claims by Danielle Sickles that her husband’s death was caused by exposure to the anti-fungal product and other industrial chemicals in use at a fish hatchery.

Mark Sickles worked as a laborer and fish culturist for the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission from 1983 until 2009.
