DALLAS — A federal court has allowed the estate of an independent contractor killed at a job site to intervene in a related insurance case, saying the estate’s underlying claims share common questions of law and fact with the declaratory judgment action.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Paul D. Stickney granted administratrix Holly A. Heintzelman’s motion to intervene Sept. 9 despite opposition by First Mercury Insurance Co., which brought the coverage action in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas.
