Aug. 26 Hearing Set on Demurrers and Motions to Strike Diacetyl Suit by Kerry Ingredients Employees

LOS ANGELES — Defense challenges to a toxic tort suit filed by two food workers will be heard Aug. 26 by a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge, according to notices posted recently by employer Kerry Ingredients Inc., Sigma Aldrich Inc. (NASDAQ: SIAL) and other defendants.

A notice docketed by Kerry Aug. 7 notes that Superior Court Judge Maureen Duffy-Lewis has advanced the date of a scheduled hearing form Aug. 30 to Aug. 26 on defendant’s motion to strike a punitive damages claim asserted by plaintiffs Hector A. Linares and Amilcar Coreas and their spouses.
