BATON ROUGE, La. — A federal judge has dismissed a lead-poisoning suit brought by employees of Kellogg, Brown & Root Inc. (NYSE: KBR), ruling that plaintiffs failed to offer sufficient evidence of wrongdoing by KBR that would allow for remedies outside Louisiana’s workers’ compensation scheme.
Judge Shelly D. Dick of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana reached that decision June 6, agreeing with KBR that the allegations made against the employer amounted to negligence, rather than intentional torts.
