NEWARK, N.J. — A New Jersey appellate court has affirmed a decision absolving a building owner and manager of liability in the death of a tenant’s employee from exposure to Legionella bacteria in the building’s water supply.
The Superior Court of New Jersey Appellate Division held May 28 that there was no reasonable standard to impose a duty on Mack-Cali Bridgewater Realty LLC to be aware of such contamination, and a motion judge did not err in granting summary judgment on that basis.
