TOLEDO, Ohio — Neighbors of a park created by Whirlpool Corp. (NYSE: WHR) for the 3,000 employees of its largest manufacturing plant allege that the undisclosed and illegal dumping of porcelain coating sludge has resulted in a childhood cancer cluster affecting 35 area children.
The allegations were raised in at last two recent filings naming Sandusky County’s largest employer which are pending in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.
