LAS VEGAS — The Nevada Supreme Court has affirmed a benefit award for a Las Vegas firefighter who contended that his cancer qualifies as a compensable occupational disease despite not meeting that criteria under the state’s rebuttable presumption statute.
The high court held May 2 that a lower court did not err in denying judicial review to the City of Las Vegas and denying the claimant benefits under an alternative workers’ compensation statute.
