NEW ORLEANS — A federal judge has denied ENSCO Offshore Co.’s (NYSE: ESV) bid for summary judgment in a chemical exposure case, saying adverse admissions made by the plaintiff in his deposition do not have conclusive effect.
U.S. District Judge Kurt D. Engelhardt’s April 2 order did grant ENSCO’s motion insofar as it applied to a claim for the unseaworthiness of ENSCO’s vessel, but denied it as to negligence.
Plaintiff Brandon Sims contends in a lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana that he was working as a roustabout aboard an ENSCO “jack-up” drilling …
