Ohio Flavorings Firm Mane Inc. Cited for Failing to Fit Test Respirators

MILFORD, Ohio — The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration has proposed $55,000 in fines for Ohio flavorings company Mane Inc. it said failed to conduct required fit tests for employees’ respirators.
OSHA said in announcing the action March 4 that Mane Inc. was a repeat violator, and faced sanctions after similar findings in 2010.
The agency said the respirator violations were found in a recent investigation. OSHA also said Mane was cited for five other serious violators, including failure to properly store and handle flammable liquids and provide adequate respiratory protection.
