Louisiana Appellate Court Affirms Mold Injury Damages for 49 State Office Workers

NEW ORLEANS — A Louisiana appellate court has affirmed damage awards to 49 state office workers who complained of respiratory infections and other injuries from occupational mold exposure.

Louisiana’s Fourth Appellate District Court said Jan. 9 in affirming the outcome of a bench trial that the trial court not only has discretion to admit and weigh testimony, and, “as the trier of fact, has great and vast discretion with respect to the determination of damage awards.”
