NEW YORK — A New York trial court has ordered the New York City Police Pension Fund to reconsider its denial of disability benefits to a member who claimed health problems from his response to the World Trade Center attacks in 2001.
New York Supreme Court Justice Louis B. York said in his Jan. 11 order that while the World Trade Center Disability Law provides a presumption of causation, city officials can rely on credible evidence to refute that presumption.
