Delaware High Court Affirms Judgment for Texas Instruments on Birth Defect Claims

WILMINGTON, Del. — The Delaware Supreme Court has affirmed dismissal of allegations by a Texas Instruments (NASDAQ: TXN) employee that his exposure to toxic chemicals at a semiconductor manufacturing facility caused his son’s birth defects.
The appellate court said in its one-paragraph ruling Jan. 9 that it agreed with the reasoning given by the New Castle County Superior Court in a September 2011 decision (See HarrisMartin's Occupational Exposure, Oct. 2011). The high court added that it also affirmed the Superior Court’s decision to deny plaintiffs’ motion for reargument.
