NEW YORK — The New York Court of Appeals has ruled for two retired police officers and a third officer’s survivors who sought increased benefits for illnesses they claim are linked to the World Trade Center attacks in 2001.
The high court concluded that the Board of Trustees of the New York City Police Department Pension Fund failed to rebut the statutory presumption in favor of the officers and did not disprove that the claimed injuries were causally related to the 9-11 attacks and aftermath.
