CHICAGO — Illinois’ high court has affirmed an order reinstating a lawsuit by a former employee of Central Steel & Wire (PINK: CSTW) against attorneys he alleges failed to file a personal injury suit against Central and its suppliers until the statute of limitations ran out.
Ruling Dec. 13 on grounds other than those cited by the Illinois Court of Appeals, the Supreme Court concluded that the defendant law firms failed to show conclusively that Hernandez’ malpractice claims were barred by res judicata because his first complaint was dismissed by the trial court.
