HARTFORD, Conn. — Boehringer Ingelheim Corp. filed a timely notice of its opposition and can contest a benefits claim filed by an employee of the pharmaceutical firm who alleges that his lung ailment is linked to long-term workplace exposures, the Connecticut Court of Appeals has decided.
The Court of Appeals’ opinion rejecting a worker’s compensation claimant’s procedural arguments is to be officially released Oct. 30.
Claimant and plaintiff Thomas Lamar appealed a decision by the state’s workers’ compensation review board and a workers’ compensation commissioner denying his bid to prevent Boehringer from contesting his benefits claim.
