CLEVELAND - Parties to the long-running welding fume products liability litigation have agreed to settle nearly all remaining claims nationwide by paying claimants from a $21.5 million fund established by welding product manufacturers, HarrisMartin Publishing is reporting.
The agreement comes as the number of cases in the federal multidistrict proceeding in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio has dropped to about 100 from the thousands transferred to the MDL beginning in June 2003 (In re: Welding Fume Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 1535).
