IHI Environmental Dismissed from Calif. Bridge Workers' Welding Litigation

OAKLAND, Calif. - The Alameda County (Calif.) Superior Court has dismissed defendant IHI Environmental from the consolidated California bridge workers' welding fume action after its insurer turned over more than $1.4 million remaining in insurance coverage. In re: Welding Products Cases, JCCP No. 4368 (Calif. Super. Ct., Alameda Cty.).

The Alameda County Court entered the dismissal with prejudice on Jan. 11, three weeks after Superior Court Justice Robert Freedman signed an amended order in which the remaining plaintiffs agreed to the dismissal despite their ongoing dispute over the disposition of the IHI settlement funds.
