Welding MDL Defendants Ask for Help Reading Physician's Screening Notes

CLEVELAND - Defendants in the Welding Fume MDL have asked the court to order plaintiffs to assist in preparing transcripts or other readable documents in response to a court order to produce a physician's notes of his examination of 50 welders. In re: Welding Fume Products Liability Litigation, No. 1:03-cv-17000 [MDL No. 1535] (N.D. Ohio).

The defendants said in their Oct. 21 motion for clarification of the court's May 24 order that the notes produced are illegible and that their offer to share the costs of having them dictated verbatim by the physician and transcribed have been rebuffed.
