Socra Asks Welding Fume MDL Court to Vacate Default Judgment

CLEVELAND - Socra Corp. has asked a federal court to vacate a default judgment entered in a welding fume case, contending that its non-response was due to a belief that it was not properly served and that it has a meritorious defense to liability. Jerkins v. Lincoln Electric Co., No. 1:04-cv-18810 (N.D. Ohio).

Socra filed its motion on Sept. 26 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. Plaintiff Charles Jerkins filed a response on Oct. 24.
