Calif. Bridge Workers Agree to Limit Allocation of Welding Settlement Funds

OAKLAND, Calif. - A California judge has signed off on an agreement among plaintiffs and a defense insurer to limit any possible allocation of the disputed insurance settlement funds to the four dozen plaintiffs in the Oakland Bay Bridge project cases. In Re Welding Products Cases, No. JCCP 4368 (Calif. Super. Ct., Alameda Cty.).
Alameda County Superior Court Judge Robert B. Freedman signed an order agreeing to the parties' stipulation on Oct. 11.
The plaintiffs will still have to present arguments on specific allocations to individual plaintiffs in a bench trial scheduled for May 7.
