ATLANTA - A federal judge in Georgia has dismissed a defamation action brought against an Illinois publisher that printed an article critical of an attorney's representation of a silicosis client. Monge v. Madison County Record, Inc., et al., No. 1:10-cv-0037-SCJ (N.D. Ga.).
Judge Steve C. Jones ruled on Aug. 3 that attorney Scott Monge could not prevail on defamation and other claims he brought against the Madison County Record Inc. and its reporter for an article on the disposition of a silicosis case in Texas and the trial judge's comments on plaintiff's counsel.
