NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Tennessee Supreme Court has denied review to a former security officer at the Oak Ridge Reservation who claimed that his pulmonary illness was caused by exposure to various workplace toxins. Mayton v. Wackenhut Services Inc., No. E2010-0907-WC-R3-WC (Tenn. Sup. Ct.).
The high court said in its July 18 judgment that it would adopt the ruling of the Special Workers' Compensation Appeals Panel that affirmed a trial court's rejection of Darryl J. Mayton's claim for workers' compensation benefits as untimely. The high court also assessed costs against the appellant.
