Texas Silica Plaintiffs Renew Civil Claims Against Their Former Attorney

HOUSTON - Former silica clients of Houston attorney Warren Todd Hoeffner have filed a new civil action alleging that Hoeffner conspired with the Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. to limit their recoveries for silicosis claims in return for kickbacks. Alvarado, et a. v. Hoeffner, et al., No. 2011-42121 (Texas 11th Dist. Ct., Harris Cty.).
A total of 93 plaintiffs filed the petition on July 15 in the Harris County (Texas) 11th District Court, naming Hoeffner, his former law firm, The Hartford, and Texas attorney James P. "Buddy" Bell, who referred silica clients to Hoeffner.
