BATON ROUGE, La. - A Louisiana appellate court considering a pro se appellant's appeal on the merits has affirmed an administrative finding that illnesses diagnosed after an accidental exposure to chemicals were unrelated to that exposure. Jones v. International Maintenance Corp., No. 2010 CA 2181 (La Ct. App., 1st Cir.).
Louisiana's First Circuit Court of Appeal issued its opinion for International Maintenance Corp. on May 6, citing the company's expert medical testimony that exposure to hydrogen cyanide and acrylonitrile would not have caused the lingering illnesses claimed by Sidney Jones Jr.
