Mississippi Jurors Find for Defendant in Silica Trial

NATCHEZ, Miss. - Jurors in Adams County (Miss.) Circuit Court reached a verdict for Pearl Sands Inc. on May 11, rejecting claims by plaintiff Mary B. Williams and her family that her late husband's death was caused by exposure to defendant's silica products. Williams v. Pangborn Corp., et al., No. 07-KV-0097-J (Miss. Cir. Ct., Adams Cty.).
Pearl Sands was the only defendant at trial.
Jurors deliberated for approximately one-and-a-half hours at the close of a trial that began on May 9, according to sources.
