Plaintiff Moves to Combine Actions Against Mississippi Valley Silica Insurers

JACKSON, Miss. - A plaintiff who secured a nearly $2 million judgment against Mississippi Valley Silica Co. has filed a motion to consolidate a half-dozen garnishment actions brought against carriers that insured the sand supplier. Eastman v. Mississippi Valley Silica Co., et al., No. 10-169 (S.D. Miss.).
Robert Eastman filed motions Nov. 23 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi, requesting that five pending cases and all related future claims be combined so that there are no inconsistent rulings on matters pertaining to the collection of his award.
