Federal Judge Approves $16.2 Million Partial Settlement for WTC Workers

NEW YORK - U.S. District Judge Alvin K. Hellerstein has approved a $16.2 million partial settlement for workers involved in the cleanup of the World Trade Center site following the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. In re World Trade Center Disaster Site Litigation, No. 21 MC 100 (AKH); In re Combined World Trade Center Disaster Site and Lower Manhattan Disaster Site Litigation, No. 21 MC 103 (S.D. N.Y.).

The settlement between plaintiff recovery workers at the World Trade Center debris burial site at Fresh Kills landfill in Staten Island, N.Y., and two of three Fresh Kills defendants.
