WASHINGTON, D.C. — Legislation to regulate the introduction of new chemical substances in homes and workplaces has been approved by a U.S. Senate committee and passed to the full Senate for consideration. Safe Chemicals Act of 2011, s.847 (U.S. Senate).
The “Safe Chemicals Act of 2011” was approved by the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee on a strict party-line vote.
A similar bill failed to win passage in 2010.
