Judge Orders Pulmosan to Comply With Settlement Terms

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - A Mississippi judge has ordered Pulmosan Safety Equipment Corp. to fulfill its obligations under a settlement agreement it entered into with the wrongful death beneficiaries of a former sandblaster who died from silicosis. Owens v. Pangborn Corp., et al., No. CI07-0108 (Miss. Cir. Ct., Forrest Cty.).

Forrest County Circuit Court Judge Robert B. Helfrich granted the plaintiffs' motion to enforce settlement Aug. 27, giving Pulmosan 10 days to pay the proceeds agreed upon by the parties following a June 3 mediation that resulted in a settlement of claims brought by Sarah Owens.
