CLEVELAND - A federal judge has granted defendant ESAB's motion for summary judgment on the eve of the latest welding fume MDL trial, agreeing with the welding rod manufacturer that its products could not have been a substantial factor in causing plaintiff James Clinger's injuries. Clinger v. Lincoln Electric Co., et al., No. 1:04-CV-17118 [In re: Welding Fume Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 1535] (N.D. Ohio).
