OAKLAND, Calif. - The plaintiff bridge welder whose claims are scheduled for trial in January is in settlement talks with the lone remaining defendant and the parties have asked the trial court to stay the case while negotiations proceed. Wacht v. ESAB, et al., No. JCCP004368 [In re: Welding Product Cases, JCCP No. 4368] (Calif. Super. Ct., Alameda Cty.).
The request to Alameda County Superior Court Judge Robert Freedman was made by counsel for plaintiff Richard Wacht and defendant IHI Environmental Inc. in a joint Case Management Conference Statement submitted to the Alameda County Superior Court on Sept. 7.
