Firm Awarded $34,000 for Role in Developing Segarra Production Protocol

PHILADELPHIA -- A law firm representing asbestos defendant Union Carbide Corp., has been awarded costs and fees for their role in developing a production protocol of reports filed by Dr. Jay T. Segarra in a number of pending asbestos MDL cases. In Re: Asbestos Products Liability Litigation (No. VI), MDL No. 875 (E.D. Pa.).
"We are unable to find that the house bills were excessive, redundant, or otherwise unnecessary in this respect," the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania ruled in awarding a total of $34,215.16.
