CLEVELAND - Defendants in a scheduled July trial have moved to limit testimony by plaintiff's expert neuroradiologist that magnetic resonance imaging shows an accumulation of manganese in the plaintiff's brain. Jerkins v. Lincoln Electric Co., et al., No. 1:04-CV-18810 [MDL No. 1535] (N.D. Ohio).
Defendants say the expert's opinions about "pallidal indexing" fail the Daubert test and would unfairly prejudice the defendants' case.
At issue are the opinions of Dr. Sukhwinder Sandhu, a board-certified radiologist at Massachusetts General Hospital, who has opined that 2004, 2008 and 2009 MRIs show increased levels of manganese in plaintiff Charles E. Jerkins Jr.'s brain.
