VICKSBURG, Miss. - A Mississippi trial court judge has ordered Mississippi Valley Silica Co. to pay $1.96 million to a former shipyard worker, its share of a verdict returned by jurors last year for more than three times that amount. Eastman v. Pangborn Corp., et al., No. 07,0132-CI (Miss. Cir. Ct., Warren Cty.).
Warren County Circuit Court Judge Isadore Patrick issued the order April 13, five months after jurors awarded Robert Eastman $7.6 million for his silica-related injury.
