Parties Dismiss Specialty Sand's Appeal of Ruling on Personal Jurisdiction

JACKSON, Miss. - A recent court filing indicates that a sand company has agreed to drop its appeal of an order that denied a motion to dismiss a Mississippi silica suit that involved Texas and Louisiana exposures. Specialty Sand Co. v. Birmingham, No. 2009-M-02007 (Miss. Sup. Ct.).

According to a court filing in the Mississippi Supreme Court, Specialty Sand Co.'s petition for interlocutory appeal of the Lowndes County Circuit Court ruling was dismissed Jan. 20 by joint motion.
