Insurers' In Limine Motions Cover Unions, Racism Ahead of La. Trial

NEW ORLEANS - Several insurers of corporate officers who are among the defendants in an upcoming silica trial have filed motions in limine asking the court to preclude plaintiffs from referring to accidents and reports of racial discrimination that may have occurred at the plaintiff's work site. Adams, et al. v. Territo, et al., No. 2005-7220 (La. Dist. Ct., Orleans Prsh.).
The motions were filed March 8 in Orleans Parish District Court in a case brought by Major Hamilton, who claims he developed silicosis after working at Avondale Shipyards. The insurers - Commercial Union, American Motorists, and Travelers - filed …
