OAKLAND, Calif. - Defendants in the coordinated California welding cases cited a pattern of voluntary dismissals in asking the trial court to put off scheduling any more trials or deciding plaintiffs' motion to consolidate trials pending medical discovery of plaintiffs on the current trial calendar. In re: Welding Products Cases, No. JCCP004368 (Calif. Super. Ct., Alameda Cty.).
The defendants cited the Dec. 9 dismissal of the only remaining non-bridge workers' cases, which they said were expected to occupy the trial schedule until 2011 (Harless and Kostad).
