PORT GIBSON, Miss. - Two Mississippi silica defendants have responded to a former sandblaster's attempt to have a recent defense verdict thrown out on grounds that the trial judge committed several errors in presiding over the case. Westrope v. Pangborn Corp., et al., No. 2007-38 (Miss. Cir. Ct., Claiborne Cty.).

Clemco Industries Corp. and Precision Packaging Inc. said in a June 26 response to plaintiffs' motion for new trial that none of the arguments from former sandblaster James Westrope are sufficient to support a new trial, including allegations that the trial judge erred in instructing the jurors.
