JACKSON, Miss. - Parties in a Mississippi silica case on appeal to the state Supreme Court have traded briefs on the issue of whether a former sandblaster's girlfriend had standing to bring a wrongful death suit after a separate lawsuit filed by the decedent prior to his death was dismissed for lack of jurisdiction.
