OAKLAND, Calif. -- A judge overseeing a California silica and asbestos case has granted a plaintiff motion for a preference in trial setting, after plaintiffs argued that the former welder and shipyard worker has less than three months to live. Bradley, et al., v. A-1 Aggregates, et al., No. RG-05-214038 (Calif. Super. Ct., Alameda Cty.).
On April 10, Judge Robert Freedman of the California Superior Court for Alameda Count signed the order that effectively moves the case from its April 2010 setting to a slot less than two months from the date of the order.
