WASHINGTON, D.C. - A federal court has granted the federal government's motion to dismiss strict liability and negligence claims by a State Department contract worker seeking damages for exposure to anthrax spores in 2001. Hose v. United States, No. 07-1805 (D. D.C.).
Judge Paul L. Friedman of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia ruled on March 31 that the Federal Tort Claims Act does not save the claims by State Department mailroom supervisor David R. Hose, who alleged that the U.S. failed to protect workers from the unsolved deadly mailings.
