SAN FRANCISCO - The federal Bextra/Celebrex MDL should deny as irrelevant and burdensome plaintiffs' request for the production of personnel files showing bonus amounts and performance reviews of Pfizer Inc. sales representatives, Pfizer said in a May 4 brief. In Re: Bextra and Celebrex Marketing, Sales Practices and Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 1699 (N.D. Calif.).
Pfizer further argues that the plaintiffs' request goes "far beyond the scope of sales representative discovery in other litigation" and must be considered in light of the substantial number of documents relating to sales representatives Pfizer has already produced.
