Parties Agree to Postpone Pa. Vioxx Trial; No New Date Scheduled

PHILADELPHIA - Parties in a Vioxx case scheduled to go before a Philadelphia jury in May have agreed to postpone the trial but have not yet formally assigned a new date, sources told HarrisMartin. Schramm, et al. v. Merck & Co. Inc., No. 050202554 (Pa. Ct. Comm. Pls., Philadelphia Cty.).
The case brought by David and Carol Schramm in the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas was originally scheduled for trial on May 21 before Judge Paul P. Panepinto and would have been the first Vioxx case to be tried as part of Philadelphia's coordinated Vioxx proceedings.
