Parties Oppose Dismissal Motions Ahead of Calif. Vioxx Trial

LOS ANGELES - Merck & Co. Inc. and a plaintiff in California's coordinated Vioxx proceedings continue to oppose each other's motions for summary judgment just two weeks prior to the scheduled start of the state's first-ever Vioxx trial. In Re: Vioxx® Cases, JCCP No. 4247 (Calif. Super. Ct., Los Angeles Cty.).

On June 5, Merck and California resident Rudolph Arrigale filed memorandum oppositions in the Los Angeles County Superior Court, each stating that the other party's claims lack admissible evidence or leave triable issues of fact unresolved.
