Reduction in the Risk of Human Breast Cancer By Selective Cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) Inhibitors

Summary: This case-control study examining 323 breast cancer patients aimed to compare the effects of selective and non-selective COX-2 inhibitors incident rates. The results showed significant risk reductions for selective COX-2 inhibitors as a group, with an odds ratio of 0.29; regular aspirin, with an odds ratio of 0.49; and ibuprofen or naproxen, with an odds ratio of 0.36.
