SAN FRANCISCO - The judge overseeing the federal Bextra/Celebrex MDL has issued an order appointing liaison counsel and steering committees to guide the hundreds of cases that have been transferred to the docket. In Re: Bextra and Celebrex Marketing Sales Practices and Product Liability Litigation, MDL No. 1699 (N.D. Calif.).
A Dec. 13 case management order entered by Judge Charles R. Breyer of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California outlines the specific responsibilities for counsel who have been appointed to the represent their respective parties in the litigation.
