Notice Indicates that California State Celebrex, Bextra Claims Will be Severed

LOS ANGELES - The judge overseeing the California state court consolidated Vioxx proceedings has indicated she will sever all claims related to ingestion of Celebrex and Bextra that may be included along with allegations that Vioxx caused a plaintiff's injury. In Re: VIOXX Cases, JCCP No. 4247 (Calif. Super. Ct., Los Angeles Cty.).

A ruling notice entered Oct. 20 in Los Angeles Superior Court says that Judge Victoria G. Chaney will exclude all Bextra and Celebrex related claims from inclusion in the coordinated proceeding, JCCP 4247. Judge Chaney oversees the consolidated Vioxx docket in Los Angeles.
